Magenta 1er Cru NV, Epernay, Champagne
This is a typical example of a beautiful natural Champagne. Floral and peach flavours combined with the Chardonnay’s fresh lemon grapefruit flavours are balanced by a touch of fruitiness from the Pinot Noir.
This Champagne with its fresh and appealing character makes the perfect aperitif.
Only the “Premier Crus” are used when blending this wine. Also only the juice from the first pressing is accepted for Brut Premier Cru. The fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless steel vats. After the second fermentation in bottle further ageing “sur lattes” takes place for a minimum of three years.
Thierry Lombard’s business is champagne. The family-owned business was established in 1925 in the village of Magenta near Epernay, the heart of the Champagne region.
Representing the third generation of his family in the champagne business, Thierry acquired the Epernay-based company Charles de Cazanove in 1984 whereupon he began the creation of Magenta, a high quality brand named in honour of the village where his family established their first champagne cellars.
The range of Magenta champagnes are kept in the cool temperatures of the traditional underground cellars in Epernay, where the bottles quietly age and develop.
